J-bolts are J-shaped fasteners, threaded on the flat side. They are often used in structural applications like securing walls to concrete foundations. The bent end hooks around the rebar for support, and may be cast in concrete for use as an anchor bolt.

Application : J-bolts are steel bolts of varying lengths and diameters, with a hooked bottom and threading on top. The hook is designed to hook onto the rebar embedded in the concrete. In residential construction, 1/2-inch diameter J-bolts are typically utilized to anchor walls to concrete.

Types :

  • Anchor bolt - Bolt designed to allow objects to be attached to concrete.
  • Arbor bolt - Bolt with a washer permanently attached and reversed threading.
  • Carriage bolt - Bolt with a smooth rounded head and a square section to prevent turning followed with a threaded section for a nut.
